Things I did over the long weekend: a musical and a movie

Notable things I've enjoyed over the long weekend:

Yesterday I watched a live stream of the musical Teaching A Robot To Love, which is written by Laser from the Doubleclicks. I thought it was really good and the song "Why Aren't You Happy?" really hit me in the feels with how it did the "how people respond to coming out as trans" feelings. If you're reading this and want to see it, I think there's still livestream tickets that are gettable for the performances next week, and there apparently will be a recorded version made available after it finishes its run. I hope I can show it to people!

Today, I watched the film Nutcracker Fantasy. It's a stop-motion animated film from Japan from 1979 and it's produced by Sanrio, who we mostly know for Hello Kitty and other cute characters (and more recent netflix shows for depressed millennials) but at the time were also doing something of a line of kids movies that probably gave kids nightmares, like Ringing Bell and such. Nutcracker Fantasy would definitely fall into this category, but also it's kinda wonderful and trippy and the animation is great (apparently the people who worked on it previously did work on various Rankin/Bass christmas specials). So yeah that could be interesting to check out.

Honestly I am not sure where most of the weekend has gone. Like, there's a lot of empty void space, I guess I spent a lot just Staring At Screen or Looking At Youtube Or Tiktok? A lot of my time seems to go there and like idk how I feel about that. woo my brain still has problems yay
