I feel like this may become, at this point, where I Post

Indeed, this place kinda was for some time my primary outlet for longish-form posts. Prior to that there was my neocities page I guess, which suffered under the burden of the effort required to manually write all the html. It is a Legit Hobby to have but I needed a bit less friction, so I'd set this place up. And it mostly went un-looked-at, like I did not really publicise it, but it's a place to get words out.

I'd bristled a bit at social media for a while, with the algorithms and the trying to get attention. And this is all coming from a place of using it. Like, I tried the Tiktok thing for a bit, but all that got me is nasty comments from homophobic children, and one or two Kinda Creepy People. I've used Twitter but even before That Asshole took it over it still was kinda sucky.

Cohost kinda felt a bit like the exception? Like it was a place I could post stuff and people saw it and liked it? This is not the place where I want to go into detail about that at the moment, especially since it'll still exist for a couple of weeks. But it filled the need, and it won't be able to, hence we are back at where we should be, which is Just Hosting My Own Shit.

To be clear, zine of Millie is going nowhere! I am working on issue 22 and that will be out when it is ready! It is an ELABORATE issue, trust me. But like, if I just wanna Post and maybe include non-bitcrushed photos or be more timely or write something, and I don't wanna squeeze it into some twitter-knockoff microblog service, or just stick it on my instagram (which kinda only makes sense for pure photos), it goes here.

How do you know when I post here? Well, there's an RSS feed here and there's another RSS feed for zine of Millie, so you can follow them. But probably I'll post links on bluesky or mastodon or wherever the heck you're following me.

What I kinda miss is comments sections, but having run a full-on wordpress install in the past that is a stress I do not want. So if you wanna talk to me about this, idk email me or something!

By the way, this is done using a static site generator called Publii, which automatically can upload to my server and makes things pretty smooth to use in general.
